The Salvation Army of Kankakee County’s Angel Tree is also on  Route 50 at Northfield Square Mall

You should also be aware the Salvation Army has been distributing Angel Tree presents to families in need in Kankakee County for several years now. The Angel Tree is a place where people can leave a small toy, book, or other small gifts for children during the holidays.

You’ll see tags with needs and wants if you visit the tree. You will also notice the name and age of the child. You can then buy these items for the child. All gifts are wrapped, and the Salvation Army has a list of the names. You will be able to see the child’s name on the tag at the top of the tree or on your card if you’ve already signed your name.

The Salvation Army invites you to be a part of this great community tradition. They hope you will find it heartwarming to know that the needs of so many children will be met each year. This is just one of the many ways community members come together to help those in need during the holiday season.

The holiday season is a time of remembrance, hope, and renewal. The events described above are just a few examples of the many holiday giving opportunities in Kankakee County.

Please contact their offices if you have any questions about giving to the Salvation Army or Kankakee County Humane Foundation.
